"Hybrid work, where employees can work in the office and remotely, is expected to become more common. Offices will be designed to support various ways of working and needs with flexible workspaces, meeting rooms and technological infrastructure for effective collaboration regardless of location."
In their latest report published before Christmas,´Future worklife 2023´, the well-known Nordic real estate company Castellum asked Chat GPT to answer what characterizes the office of the future.
The AI robot predicts that focus on health and well-being, flexibility, sustainability, collaboration, and technology will become central elements in the future office.
Chat GPT predicts that more technology in digital communication tools such as virtual reality, augmented reality and other cloud-based platforms will become significant tools for future collaboration in the office.
Adaptable
"Future offices will be strongly influenced by technology and digitalisation, including advanced digital communication tools, cloud-based collaboration platforms, VR and AR, which can support virtual meetings and remote collaboration.
Other new technologies, such as intelligent sensors and further automation, will in a short time create ever more efficient and adaptable working environments in the companies," Chat GPT reports to Castellum.

"In the future, office spaces and environments will develop to become increasingly flexible and adaptable to face the changing needs and activities of companies as best as possible.
It might include everything from modular furniture and walls that can move as needed to flexible lighting and individual acoustic solutions to support and enhance a multi-functional working environment."
Spacious and versatile
Castellum's AI robot notes the future office will prioritize the well-being and health of employees: Fitness and wellness facilities, green outdoor areas for relaxation, lighting and air quality that promote a healthy working environment.
The office furniture and designs will focus more sharply on sustainability and environmental awareness with recycled materials, energy-efficient solutions, green roofs and walls, waste management and recycling options.

"The future offices contain spaces promoting collaboration, creativity and innovation: Shared meeting rooms, creative workstations or innovation hubs where employees can exchange ideas and work together on projects.
Overall, the layout of the future office workplace will become increasingly spacious and versatile to accommodate the various needs of the employees. It will ensure space for promoting inclusion and equality," Castellum Chat GPT states.
Colleagues most important
The Castellum report - authored by Castellum´s human experts - concludes that the office has returned. Nine out of 10 Scandinavian employees perform from physical offices for at least half of the workweek.
Once again, the office has become a social hub. Two out of three employees believe that the office spaces are very or the most important for their social life.
Two out of three employees think the office spaces are very or the most important for their social life, and the strong office advantage and attraction is the employees, the Castellum report ´Future worklife 2023´ concludes. |
"The office is the colleagues. The main advantage and attraction of the office is all its employees. On average, 62% of respondents indicate their colleagues as most important in the office. Young people are generally the more positive about the office.
Younger and older employees agree that office accessibility is the alpha and omega. The location must be close to housing, public transport or parking," the ´Future worklife 2023´ Castellum report summarizes. ●
